Now You Can Join Our Team! Become part of our 'family' Our membership drive has finally begun. We've' sent out letters to many vet's as well as others who have shown an interest in what we do here. Rescue takes commitment and dedication. We have a very large group of well-wishers and, we thank them for their emotional support. This is not, by far, the easiest 'labor of love' I have ever undertaken. Some days are very long and the work load can get pretty heavy. There are SO MANY birds out there that need help! Not to mention bird owners that simply don't know where to turn for information and support. Expense is also a great factor. Steve and I support all efforts here. We do receive donations at times however, they are not something which we can count on. ALL MEMBERSHIP PROCEEDS WILL GO DIRECTLY TO BIRD CARE! There are many differnt types of memberships we could offer. This being our first year (for memberships) we feel, the simplest way to be the best. We are starting with one basic 'family' membership. What you will receive:
(Non-members will pay a submission fee for classifieds.) The yearly membership fee is $15.00. If you would like to join us in membership, please print and use the form provided. You can submit a classified ad, joke or story at the same time. (we sure hope you do) Future news letters (members only) will contain financial reports, new rescues, stories about our 'funny guys' and much more! Join us in our effort to make this world a safer, better place for birds. ONE BIRD AT A TIME! We will also have listings of local bird clubs, Vets, equipment suppliers as well as any other articles of interest to our members. Let us know what you would like to see in our news letters. Click here to learn more about the Pass the Buck Club. We have launched a new 'Sponsor Adoption' program. Here is how it works: Our sponsor adoptions run for one month at a time. You can select the bird or birds you would like to 'adopt' for any month. You can 'adopt' for one month or several months. The 'adoptions' start at $5.00 per month or, any amount over that you would like to help with. All "adoption' fees will be combined to benefit all of the birds here. Adoption fees will help to provide food, vet care, toys and any other need the birds may have. What you will receive: We will send you a laminated picture of 'your' bird with his or her story. These cards are post card size and creativily done. Carry it with you to show your new 'baby' to friends and relatives. You can 'adopt' once or many times, one bird or several! You may re-adopt the same bird as often as you like or, choose a different bird. We have taken in birds for a wide variety of reasons. Some are here because they were very much loved by their family. It may have been illness or life changes in general. Others are rescues due to abuse, neglect and have very sad stories. You choose. There is one thing that you can be sure of, each one is loved now!! Here is a listing of current birds available for 'Sponsor Adoption'. Their story is on each card: Jake, African Grey: From Boston, MA. Jake was MUCH loved, circumstances brought (her) here. Sparkle & Oscar, Sparkle, Great Sulphur-Crested Cockatoo- Oscar, African Grey: From RI. Two for the price of one.. They have always been together and will be 'adopted' the same way. These birds were also loved. Illness was the reason for surrender. Golden Boy, Moluccan Cockatoo: From CT. A VERY sad story for sure. Goldie is severly handicapped. His story is a tough read... I'm delighted to tell you however, he's a happy birdie today and absolutely adored by all. Cocoa Puff, Umbrella Cockatoo: From NJ. Another sad story however, Cocoa is not handicapped. Not physically anyway. She is dammaged emotionally! Today she is totally loving and learning to trust again, as you will see from her picture. Sasha, Moluccan Cockatoo: From NY. You'll see from her picture, what a love sponge she is! Sasha loves everyone instantly!! When there is a knock at the door, she yells "come in" For this reason, we keep the door locked. Someday, I'll post the salesman story! We will be adding more birds as our site grows. You can send a check or money order to: Lazicki's Bird House & Rescue Please specify the bird you're 'adopting' by name or, ask us to choose for you. If you prefer to 'adopt' a species of bird that is not yet listed, please contact us by email. Thank you for your support |
